Amazon seems to be readying a less expensive version of its common Echo Dot speaker, if a tweet that confirmed up briefly on the company’s Twitter account this morning is nearly anything to go by.
The voice-controlled smart speaker that properties Amazon’s private assistant Alexa was announced again in March, costing $89.ninety nine, and is a smaller sized, palm-sized enlargement to the company’s flagship Echo product that lets customers expand the capabilities of the latter product to distinct rooms of their residence.
Now it looks Amazon is nearly established to supply a less expensive “all-new” version of the Dot at $49.ninety nine. The tweet, which was immediately deleted from the company’s Twitter account but picked up by some customers, connected to Amazon’s present site for the Echo Dot, which is currently bought out.

Recode queried the deleted tweet with Amazon spokespeople but they declined to comment, suggesting the pre-emptive tweet was a real accident.
